Backstory
When Iroha was born, the name he was originally given was Kavi. He had a twin, Ilia, and the two were inseperable. However, an unknown illness swept through the village when they were young, and Ilia was one of the casualties. Kavi very nearly was, as well.The toll that the illness took was both a source of anguish and unbridled fascination. Even as he fought for his life, he found himself in awe of the ways in which his body retaliated. And so, once he recovered, he made the difficult decision to leave the Wood behind and study medicine, throwing himself headlong into his research.Although he traveled through Nagxia, the climate was not at all to his liking, and he quickly moved on. His first true stop was Hingashi, where he began the grueling cycle of earning the trust of those around him in order to gain access to more study materials, and using those study materials to build rapport with the community. He chose his new name based solely on Hingan words he'd heard around and enjoyed the sound of; nowadays, while he does harbor some regret for the unusual name, he stands by it as a necessary step in his journey.He eventually established himself well enough to open a clinic near the base of Daitenzan, at the center of Hingashi's easternmost island. While he employs staff, he thoroughly enjoys hands-on work with the ill and injured, especially with more unusual cases. Many of the patients he personally tends to are those of lesser means; working with them personally allows him to more easily tailor treatment and payment to their individual situation. Naturally, to offset this, many wealthier patients may be charged higher prices... but quality medical care is worth its cost, no?He has since traveled to many places, enjoying the wealth of knowledge to be found throughout the world. He often returns to his home and clinic in Hingashi, however; the excitement of new sights never quite eclipses the comfort of the familiar.
